stuy
Had a drive around found plenty of pigeon, large numbers on peas and wheat looking good, found a rape field with a good 700+ they where dropping in on the tram lines (40 acre field split into 15 large bays trying out different strains of rape I have been told ) and the tram lines were a good 10 m apart but just couldn't shoot it tidy picking birds etc.. so will that one go I am afraid. But the woodpigeon have really turned up here in style, a pity because I am off to turkey for 10 days! I am sure they will be there when I get back hopefully. But I will have a try on the wheat tomorrow
JDog
I am taking a bus load of PW members to Herefordshire next week to sort the pigeons out whilst you are away. There is therefore no need to worry about crop damage while you are lying on the beach.

skye
Agreed, I noticed yesterday the farm next door had started cutting. It won't be long before we can get out on the stubbles.

But I will have a try on the wheat tomorrow At work today I went for a drive past a few farms. Almost all the pigeons I saw where tucking in on the low patches of rape. One of the farmers told me he will be cutting within 10 days, weather permitting.
