The Essex Hunter
I was a little low on ferret food so a quick drive to the farm with my four legged helper, sticks and my 50 year old BSA. Only one not head shot so I sent Chip out to it, he was not quite sure what to do but pinned it while I caught up. A quick chop to the back of the head and on too retrieving the other rabbits. Not easy keeping a young dog steady but I was pleased with his retrieve's and he never complained once.... TEH
Underdog
Nice. Buddy of mine uses a beesa like yours, he has taken thousands with it and only owned it for a decade! Must be four decades before him old! say...his is a little weak on ejection and often drops an empty in the receiver, how is yours please? No problem if you are sharp with the bolt, but pull it back softly and they will do as your friends gun.... You can load it with any round and it will shoot well. Have an unusual mental image of "you can do it" and you karate chopping some rabbit to death. Lovely looking dog, good bag and nice old gun to boot! A chop to the back of neck holding the back legs....Lots of ways to dispatch rabbits and not wishing to start a side debate on that.... I mastered that method at around 15 and I am know 53, other lads who I ferret with, stretch the neck and one uses the chinning method... None of us use priest's as something else to carry/drop/find as when you are in a thick hedge with not much room then a priest would take up to much time... Thank you for the comments on Chip and the gun TEH

Thank you for the comments on Chip and the gun TEH Ah, I know the technique you mean now. I have done similar but with a priest. As you say, best not start a despatching debate. I remember the pigeon one and that lasted many a page. :-)
