Bigweed
We have a very old laporte 185. The relay has blown and am looking for a replacement. First picture below shows the current blown one and the second what I think it is - appears to be a marchal relais 413 24 volts. We have 2 x 12 volt batts wired in series. Googled the hell out of this but can't find a replacement. Any suggestions.
welshwarrior
Phone LaPorte they are normally quite good at have reference material for older traps.
webber
Can't help with a direct replacement, but if you track down a firm who do tail lifts for trucks you should find that they use similar 12 and 24 volt relays on their kit; just make a suitable substitution based on the number of Amps passing through the contacts. webber
webber
Or have a look on Ebygumbay. I found this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HELLA-24-VOLT-MAIN-CURRENT-RELAY-4RA-003-437-091-/151362849416?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item233dedca88 Its rated at 60 Amps so it should be sufficient for your trap, but there are others available. webber
Bigweed
Thanks Webber - looked at those but they seem to be relays rather than solenoid but not sure it that makes a difference
Kermit the frog
You can use an Albright relay as used in the Promatic Super sporter, don't have the part number to hand but you can get them directly from Albright online, or any relay other rated at 60 amps or better, lots in the forklift trade No difference in this case between a solenoid or relay If you get stuck contact me and will find the numbers out for you kermit

northstar
hi, I would recommend a durite 0-727-06 24volt 60amp replacement, much cheaper than a marchal, I have fitted these in 24v and 12v and are very robust.
