magman
Most definitely mate, they are a extra 25fps quicker than the standard black golds and to be fair even though they give that extra punch they don't crack anymore than the standard black golds... I found them softer
DazzJo
Another 25 FPS means absoulutely nothing in real terms , I would guess they will vary by as much as that from cartridge to cartridge . Well of course it means something as they wouldn't state it on the advert for them, I go with what the makers say. Great cartridge..

fenboy
Well of course it means something as they wouldn't state it on the advert for them, I go with what the makers say. Great cartridge.. Your quite right , it makes people who dont know a great deal about cartridges go Wow I will get that one as its 25 FPS quicker There will be no difference at all in practical terms that the shot will reach the target between one doing 1400 and another doing 1425 , I use homeloads doing well over 1500 FPS for wildfowling and I give no different lead than i do with a pigeon cartridge doing 1350. Temperature ans storage will also have a effect on velocity . Of course if you happy with the cartridge all well and good , but I will stand by my original post that there is absolutely no advantage over the other. DazzJo
Ye I don't know a lot about cartridges as I don't make my own and not everybody knows a lot about everything.
fenboy
My post was not a personal dig at you . I was just pointing out the facts , as I said if you are happy with them and think they give you an advantage then that is all that matters , shooting well is all about confidence in your equipment after all. ayano3
I know they come in a real fancy box that's far better looking than some of the other brands and I know they make a similar noise to the other ones I buy in the less fancy box and if my aim is right the target falls out of the sky for the dog to retrieve just like the other cartridges. If I miss they are also just the same as the ones in the less fancy box. The big difference is that colourful box they come in costs on average a quid more than the plain looking box and if you can't tell any difference I'm not investing in cardboard. I also found the birds I hit with them are no deader than the ones I killed with the ones in the plain looking box. The real difference seemed to be that the black gold cartridge finish was poor compared to others and looked too full.
