fiiish1987
Hi. I'm heading down to lands end this weekend with my cousin from america. He wants to get his son a sword or helm whilst he's here as he's a big fan of the medieval period. Does anyone know of a shop between dorset and lands end that will provide us with something (preferably a helm but sword will do). thanks
Cranfield
Should he check with the Airline first ? I am not sure whether he would need some special clearance, to even put that in checked-in luggage.
fiiish1987
I thought it was a bit dodgy as well but he said he checked with his airline and it's ok (i reckon he's swindling it as he works for the airline).
wickedandlazee
They're OK as long as you notify the airline and put it in the baggage hold apparently according to a shop where I bought some similar kit in York

fiiish1987
Thats nothing. he's been looking at castles and is dissapointed by the fact that all the ones he's seen were ruins (what do you expect after 600yrs of weathering and the odd battle?) I've now pointed out a few that are in good nick. What's with americans and medeval stuff? is it because they don't have a history or something? Vulcha
Lands end is hell of a **** As for the swords and such, theres a small shop in Brixham which could be of interest. Well, there was last time I was there.
Dave-G
He may well appreciate a look around St Micheals Mount at Marazion near Penzance. See link below St Micheals Mount
fiiish1987
Just to say we didn't reach lands end. i told them about st michaels and they didn't believe that the water would go all the way out. so we waited in a pub until the tide went out. they thought it was some freaky holy thing going on! apart from that we did the typical grockle rock thing of st ives, pastys, cream tea, cod and chips anc fudge...and beer, lots of beer! good shout dave-g
Dave-G
Glad you enjoyed it. Last time I went down St Ives a seagull nicked my pasty out of my hand while I was looking elsewhere - probably at some girl in a bikini.
