nderfel
saw this yesterday, a thermal camera you attach to your phone and can pick out and identify things at 250 feet (according to the manufacturer) if it does what it says on the tin it could be useful http://thermal.com/see_the_unseen.html
loriusgarrulus
Could be useful when lamping to find the bodies if still warm.
figgy
This could spell disaster for the Cotswold lads who like to meet up outdoors Figgy
nderfel
Yeah, one of my shooting buddies send it over after we lost a few rabbits in the stubble the other week. Thermal dogging videos, now that's niche market
Beardo
cheap at £120 as well
nderfel
The issue is finding someone that will send it to to uk. The company only delivers to Canada and the us. I am going to contact them and see if they will send here. I know the authorities over there are weird about sending stuff like this overseas. My mate had some scope mounts impounded that he ordered. aris
I have bought stuff from the US using a forwarding service - http://www.shipito.com/ - it works fine, but you obviously pay a little bit of a premium, and have to jump through some hoops with ID etc.
straightshooter1
been looking at thermal scopes for years now, exspensive as hell but at last they have started to come down in price. Much better than NV as they can be used night and day. This bit of kit looks great just a bit unsure as the web site is pretty basic in fact most pages aren't finished could be dodgy would want to see someone else buy, recieve and review one first
nderfel
Thanks aris, that's useful to know.
aris
Looks like there is a competitive product - a but more sleek, but also more expensive, but available in the UK http://www.flir.com/flirone/ Seems to be limited to the iPhone 5 form factor though. They do a rifle sight too http://www.flir.com/thermoSightR-Series/ Between 3500 and 7500 US$ Edited September 26, 2014 by aris

nderfel
the flirone doesn't look like it suits us shooty types, the other one may though, lost 2 rabbits tonight which was very careless but in the long ish grass and stubble and under red light its so easy to do
