JDog
I bought one of the earliest AYA no.2s to come into the country sometime in the '70's. Though it wasn't my first gun it was the one I used continually from when I bought it to the turn of the century when I was seduced by a Beretta with a different barrel configuration. I now use a Miroku and when I pick up the side by side I just know that I could not shoot well with it so I decided to sell it. This morning in an idle moment I looked through my game book which goes back to 1978. With that gun I have shot ptarmigan, blackcock, grouse, curlew, golden plover, three different types of geese, numerous types of duck, woodcock along with the more common game birds and a fair few pigeons and corvids. How many birds I have shot with it is difficult to say but it will number into the tens of thousands. Yesterday the gun went off to a new home where I know that it will be looked after and what's more used on a regular basis. It was bought by a fellow PW member who I shall stay in touch with to ensure that he is looking after it if nothing else.

figgy
My very first air rifle that I bought was a mk1 Webley Vulcan of mid eighties vintage. Put a scope on 4x20 and accounted for loads of rabbits and other birds etc. Then decided to buy a all singing all dancing BSA and sold my brother the Webley he used it for a few years and sold it for another air rifle. We both regretted selling it. It was so easy to use very well. Not as accurate as the BSA but a lot quicker to mount and shoot And just seemed to fit. Funny I never miss any of the other guns I've sold, the BSA was sold for sixteen times the value of the Vulcan but would have loved to have kept hold the Vulcan. We all sell things on for various reasons and later wish we hadn't. The guns that have gave me the most pleasure have been the cheaper ones I've owned. Never worked out why, maybe because I never expect as much from them. Hope you don't regret selling the AYA but think you will in the future.
