Gin steady shooter
Starting my first season of fowling soon near Dunbar Scotland, I have a friend from my syndicate shoot that has kindly offered to take me. Friend has said that waders are better option than wellies and that although hip waders would suffice chest waders are better. I don't own any type of waders so With this mind I'm looking at a pair of pro logic nylon chesties. Anyone had any experience of these? or am I better to get the pro logic neoprene ones, which will cost me almost double the nylon ones.? Any alternative suggestions also considered, price wise; I don't want to spend a lot as this is my first venture on the mud, and whilst I intend to stick at wildfowling I'm not sure how many outings these waders will see each season. Fit wise I'm a 42" waist, 35" inside leg and 6'2" tall, im struggling to find a local shop in Edinburgh area to try on, so will have to buy blind / make an educated guess. Thoughts please on pro logic / options, thanks.
Liamey
I have no experience on the brand you mention, however neoprene are the way to go for duck hunting, nice and warm!
fendrover90
Pro logic cannot even make a waterproof coat I'd stay clear there are other neoprene options for less money , bison waders £50 e.c.t.

I cant comment on the pro logic waders but my pro logic coat has been very good on it's second season. I have Daiwa neoprene chest waders but unless it get really cold quick i will be changing them. I am getting out of them just as wet from sweating as i would be if i didn't have them on. Ocean chest waders are meant to be good.

pob
I've had prologic nylon waders that served me very well for five seasons. However, the boots have finally given up, lots of leaks and I can't seem to repair them with stormsure. Might have been poor maintenance on my part, not rinsing them thoroughlly after use, but I'm happy with the service that they gave for the price. No issues until then. I prefer nylon to neoprene. Neoprene is too warm for me, especially on a September evening. But then you are in Scotland so might be better with neoprene.
Gin steady shooter
Thanks for all your replies. Tried on some Ron Thomson pvc waders but 11uk felt more like a uk13! Also tried on some bison neoprene chesties but a uk11/12 is too small. ( I'm ususly a std uk12 show size). Going to wait till bison neoprene in uk13 become available, which in told is in 6 weeks. Till then wellies and old pvc waterproof trousers should do. What I'm discovering is that you really need to try on before you buy as there is such a wide in size between manufacturers when it come to waders! Thanks for all your replies.
