digger
has anyone experience of the above ? my car was written off by someone overnight who failed to stop. no cc tv so little chance of finding them. They compensate for such events so wondered if it was worth persuing. to say I'm miffed is an understatement esp as my excess is £600 !! Lord Geordie
I lost my Peugeot 406 hdi when some richard shaker ploughed into it on newyears eve! Wrote the car off. I thought better of paying extortionate hikes in insurance due to claiming. In the short term the cash helps repair the car! In the long term your paying for it yourself 6 times over! Munzy
Yes. I was t-boned by a speeding car with no headlights on ten years ago. The police attended and took statements from everyone and provided my insurers with a report of the event stating the third party was at fault. Unfortunately the driver (having given the police a false name) turned out to be an uninsured illegal and vanished. In the end my insurers wrote off my car after just three days of ownership and claimed everything from the MIB. I did have to endure a three month investigation into whether I was in cahoots with the third party but that's another story!
