Apparently we have a Lunar Eclipse happening on Saturday from around 8:16 till past 2 in the morning!

Main (Total eclipse) is about 10:30ish onward.

Checked the Met office website and Saturday over Newcastle is supposed to be clear :stupid:

Of course Michael fish ALSO said we are not having any storms too :P

Will have to wait till sat i guess but i have my fingers crossed

I love watching celestial events, puts everything into perspective or should that be sharp relief ?Meteor showers and comets are stunning for different reasons and I love the red shift for partial lunar eclipses.

Hope it`s better than the Cornish eclipse :welcomeani:

Expensive do was this watching this eclipse.

Kept having a look thru the bino's every time I went to the fridge for a beer.

Got so engrossed that when I put the bino's down on the bench, I missed and they fell onto the tiled kitchen floor. <_<

Now when I look thru them there is 2 of every thing, still in perfect focus and can zoom as well but just 2 of them, & it wasnt just the stella causing it cos got the missus to check, and tried again in the morning.

So if we have any one eyed people who require a set of 8-20X50 binos give me a call
