ditchman
Since my last few DISASTEROUS outings, flighlining....i nipped out this morning, on the way to the local shop....and threw a few deeks out and 3 on springs................i really struggled getting the net and poles up, the wind was criminal..........the decoys on springs looked like punk rockers pogoing....the only thing they werent doing was spitting ! I was determined to put the "evil eye" to bed....settled down with the No4 28gm 6's and soon trade started to come in...they werent truly decoyed but diverted for a look see....they dropped down over the trees by the old house to about 10ft off the ground then swerved right for the decoys , and when they swerved the wind got under the wings and went from 15mph to 40mph in a few short sec's.... ...UP-FLICK THRO-BAM !.....down it comes this happened more less like this for 25 mins......i nailed a higher one at 25-30yds up and i paced out the wind took it 70 yds and when it hit the ground it exploded in a mass of feathers.......... i was getting cold and the hide was slowly collapsing i picked up ..or rather the dog picked up 9 large woodies....AAANNND i didnt waste any cartridges this time... im going to stick to what im reasonable at and it will be a while before i have the will (and the ammunition) to have a go at flighlining again !!
