ShaggyRS6
I have not posted on PW for years - for many reasons I have been away from forums and shooting for a couple of years. I actually moved to the US with my job just under 2 years ago. I am about 3 months away from getting my green card which means I can buy firearms and re-kindle my love of hunting. Now when I used to post back in the day we did used to have an affiliate type forum in the US. I thought that may be a good place to start. Basically I am looking to get out with other who are local to me to learn the ropes. Lots of new things to consider here. Bears, Snakes, Bobcats, Big Deer etc etc. Can anyone help? Cranfield
Hi Shaggy, good to see you are still about and thriving. We have never had an, "affiliate type forum in the US" , but there are quite a lot of shooting/hunting/fishing Forums there. Most are relevant to specific States and even areas (North, South, East, West) of some of the larger States. A quick search through Google is probably your best bet. ShaggyRS6
I felt sure we had some kind of friendship with a US site. Having said that I have been prone to memory issues of late, age and all that. I am actually in New Jersey, North Bergen County, right on the edge of the mountains. I just joined one site, but like other forums I have joined in the US I fond initially its really bloody hard to get people to reply to your threads and reply. Most annoying. Do we have any other hunters from the US on the site that you know of? On a separate topic, how are you? How is the family? I hope all is well. Cranfield
We have quite a few US members about, most seem to lurk , but they are here. All is well around the homestead , but we have too much wet and windy weather at present. A couple that might be worth trying. http://www.njwoodsandwater.com/ http://www.newjerseyhunter.com/forums/forum.php http://njgunforums.com/forum/ http://www.huntandfishnj.com/

I joined a few of them and in fact have in the last week met some really great people. I have my first archery lesson tomorrow, and then I am going to get setup with a compound bow for next season. Will use the time in between to become proficient. Next Friday a lady is taking me to her Gun range and we are going to shoot all kinds of things including a Desert Eagle. Not sure if I will hang on to one of those. Then I met another guy who has taken me under his wing and we are going hunting in a couple of weeks. Nice!!
