hodge911
hi all just wondering if there is anyone in the north east got a trigger pull gauge I can borrow for a couple days ? I fancy measuring the trigger on my 10/22 and lightening it a bit . of course I don't mind leaving a deposit on it till I return it cheers hodge
Paladin
Hi I made mine from an old spring balance/scale out of my fishing tackle. They're less than a fiver to buy, remove the hook and with an old wire coat hanger make an extension so that the spring balance/scale pulls inline and doesn't foul on the stock. Gunman
For a one off make one out a piece of 1/8" wire and a plastic gallon bottle . With a set of kitchen scales you can set weights exactly . 1/2 gallon is 5lbs , 1pint is 1&1/4 pounds etc. Simply hook the wire on the trigger and lift the gun vertically , add or subtract weight till you get the actual pull off weight then set the pull weight you want and adjust accordingly . Do you shoot shotgun? If so, I use a small poly bag and shotgun cartridges - just weigh 10 on the kitchen scales to get an average individual weight. Accurate result and no flood. hodge911
bought a spot on spring gauge with a marker toggle that shows the weight when effort removed [if that makes sense] got them for £7 in the clearance sale at go outdoors instead of £19.99. they are actually quite accurate as I tested them with different weights from 8oz up to 10lb .
