matone
They were usually used for skeet layouts where the trappers may not hear the call . Very good traps !
HDAV
Or you can load the walk away to give different targets not always a safe place to stand and pull the string
Westley
It was also thought that the solenoid release gave a more 'instant release' than the manual method (so to speak) ! In the days of manual traps for skeet, the calls of 'PULL' for the high bird, 'MARK' for the low bird and 'TRAP' for the pairs was used. This enabled the trappers to identify which trap was being called for. Problem was you could not use hearing defence when trapping or you would not hear the shooter call, especially with "the whisperer of the week ". To this day I still use the three calls and deafen the buttoner, who is now standing alongside the shooter. Oh, and YES. I AM DEAF TOO.
