I recommend you post an introduction,a few words about yourself,eg,shooting experience, etc etc etc, then someone may be willing to point you in the right direction, start posting and let yourself become known on here, apart from that,do what the majority,if not everyone on here has done, get knocking on doors for your permissions.

Ok thanks for replying. Well I'm 25 years old my brother is 40. I'm rick and he's joe. We have shooting experience him more than me as our dad has been shooting all his life. But we are just shooting with air rifles. I just don't know where to start we have called farms and they say they don't have anything. We will keep tryin like you say. Just looking to get some tips and advice from you more experience guys.

Hi Guys,

Well hopefully I can be a little more helpful than the bloke from up north!

Across the road from where you live is one of the biggest farms in Bedfordshire, it's known as Bedfordia they allow people to shoot vermin on their land,ie rabbits and pigeons, what you need to do is get the phone number for their estate office and ask to be put on the shooting list, it's a long wait I waited two years, but if you persevere and phone them regularly you may get some success.

like everyone else including "the bloke from up north" we"ve all been in a position where we want somewhere to shoot, too many people come on to forums with a first post of "anyone got any shooting for me"type posts, most with no introduction,so again like most people,we had to work for it,there may be a few who have it handed to them, but the majority don't,this is how them and the bloke from up north got their permissions.

I'm in the same boat as you mate, I'm in Essex though and trying to get land here is nigh on impossible! Really want to get my FAC but getting that first piece of land is so hard! I'll keep trying going to knock some more doors at the weekend although I'm getting disheartened with it now been trying for months

seems to get land round here you have to know the right people which sadly I dont

Yeah it's not nice is it. I always thought it was simple to get land but it's not obviously! This was my last resort was to come on here and get some tips and stuff. I've done what you have for months and can't get anything. Just want to get out there and get my shoot on!!

All the best anyway mate let me know when you get land 😀

Getting the knock backs isn't too bad you get used to it, the farmers must get constantly asked and that would annoy me if I was a farmer! It's not nice from your side when your after permissions though

I don't mind working and doing jobs for it but I don't have much to offer a farmer unless he wants any technical drawings done for the farm

Same fella good luck to ya

You've hit the nail on the head there leadbreakfast, I know that fingers crossed after I've got my first permission and if I work hard at it and get known hopefully I'll be able to get more! I'll be willing to do beating or anything in fact to get a permission so I can get my FAC

The pub is a good place to start I agree my problem is that I live in East london so not many landowners round here

I tried knocking on doors and writing letters all to no avail. Even where landowners were responsive they said they had someone already.

Once you get one its then a lot easier to get the next as you have a contact. I now have plenty of shooting land.

Comments i have had are ' When i have said yes to a shooter you see them once or twice on a nice day and then never again'

'I said yes and before i knew it it was not them shooting but there mate'

'They only want to shoot the game and don't want to do the crop protection work.

On the other hand I loose track of the times i get asked to come over to shoot hundreds of crows ravaging crops that turn out to be just one or two.

I always agree with farmers that they will call me when they plough, spread, sow or crop. They only call when they sow.
