I still remember my first about 15 yrs ago, first shot dropped into some briars, I didn't have a dog and didn't want to risk losing it before the pickers up got to it so dived in straight after it! Stunning birds. I did the exact same, I unloaded and passed my gun to a flagger who was with me as soon as it hit the deck on the field, I was over the fence onto the field like usain bolt out of the blocks then dived on it like johnny wilkinson even though it was stone dead when I picked it up I let out a big WOOHOO, before grabbing my gun off the flagger when as soon as I dropped a couple of dark storms in the barrels out popped a dark black cock bird and bang that hit the ground in a hedgerow!
