Gamebore White Gold

Recommended Posts

Evening all! I have decided to get back into clay shooting and am looking at cartridge choices to replace Eley Firsts.

Can any users of the White Gold cartridges shed any light on how punchy they are compared to Eley Firsts or Gamebore Velocity clay loads with plastic wads? I have used Gamebore Velocity before and hated them - felt too snappy and were hellishly dirty. Being as White Golds are faster are they worse than the Velocity cartridges?

Many thanks

The middle ground cartridge in the Gamebore range is the Evo, no quite as budget as the Velocity and not as pricey as White Gold. There is also the Blue Diamond range.

I think the Evo is a great cartridge and certainly I don't find it punchy.

Thanks for your suggestion, I'll see if he has any Blue Diamonds in!

use white golds in fibre.....great cartridge and no more recoil/noise than any other.....CSPs(justcartridges own) are similar too if you're an online type..

Thanks dougall - you were the only one who actually addressed the original question about White Golds, much appreciated!

GB White gold are my absolute favorite cartridge, clean burning, nice to shoot, no plastic streaking...........Only down side is the cost !

I used to shoot them when I was single and cartridges were far cheaper (about 10-15years ago) but I met the Mrs and now with two cars, two dogs and a mortgage as well as a collection of air rifles and shotguns I couldnt afford to keep buying GBWG. So I used Rio`s when I could get them then Eley firsts, but I really didnt like them so moved to eley olympic blues which were good and then onto Fiocchi Top 1`s. The Top 1`s plastic wad were terribe for plastic streaking which I put down to the the wad and case matterial.

For christmas I treated myself to a slab of GBWG and what a difference, really reminded me of how good they are / I perceive them to be.

So I have my last 50 Top 1`s left now and I wont be getting anymore, insted I will try a slab of the Gamebore Evo and see what they are like.

All these are for used threw my Browning 30" sporter so I doubt there will be much perceived recoil as there wasnt at the weekend using 32gram 5`s on pheasant threw it.

Brilliant, thanks salopsniper. I'll pick up a few and give them a try, I'm not too put off by the price, if they are a decent cartridge that is!

If price isnt an issue then 100% go for them, smooth shooting and clean burning power (store them in the dry and relitive warm as with any cartridge) and very little if any plastic streaking.

If I could afford it they are all I would shoot, even using the fibre for decoying with !

Only £52 a slab with us!!

Great cartridges, smooth to shoot, pattern well, and leave the barrels very clean after. That's all i use now, get some very good breaks (if i do my part). Would recommend to anyone to give them a go.

+1....I love the white golds and they're all I use on Clays now, 53 a slab I pay so not much more than others and like everyone says they're very clean burning and recoil felt no more than firsts. RC2's are a good choice as well
