I popped into 1 off my permissions after last shoot of season on saturday to be met by the sight of 3 foxes laying side by side two foot from main road and clearly visible to passing vehicles and pedestrians.two were well decomposing other maybe two weeks old all had tails removed with bone ,spoke too farmer and he said has been lot of it going on local with pheasants and foxes been dumped on his brothers place few miles away, the farmers are pointing finger at local keepers we had bag full of stinking pheasants and fox dumped near here last year.I popped down next morning with me pal and a spade to move the three foxes, beggars belief though why a fellow shooter would do such a thing perfect fodder for the anti shooting brigade...

probably the fact that someone dumped them on our land ,let alone in full view of the public it took time and energy to move them here so why didnt they just bury them on there land im sure noboby would like carcass dumped on there permissions the finger could point to them

id agree that its not the easiest way to remove the bush.its farmers that are blaming local keepers not myself as large amounts of pheasants have also been dumped on several farms ,police have told them quite few similar incident in locality.i think the point is regardless of who is doing it it shouldnt be happening and could result in bad press for shooting and shooters

Happened locally here several years back. Game cart got stolen and contents dumped in local spinney. Then local press called and photos taken and published. Strangely, pheasants were dumped about a mile from local game dealer that accepts game pretty much any time of day so clearly not dumped by the shooting fraternity.

Personally I don't know any keeper who removes tails like that

Indeed, if they want the brush they leave the bone on the fox!

None bother removing the bush at all and game dealers here take all game so it's very weird having dumped pheasants

Well, I certainly know of several keepers who remove the tail (without the bone) from time to time for various reasons, usually because someone wants one!
