ShootingEgg
Went to a clay shoot this morning and mate of mine turns up and as he takes his gun out his slip i was horrified to see an orange barrel....rust was an understatement. Turns out he had put it away wet. So his other guns are starting to rust too... Does anyone have any good tips on how I can A: slap him so he knows not to be a muppet again B: get the rust off his barrels... Thanks Adam
Gordon R
Very fine wire wool soaked in oil. Do not rub so hard it takes the blueing off.
ShootingEgg
Yeah just got a message from him... Think we may be a bit late... Think a re blueing kit may be needed...
Paul223
If it's a fair quality gun get it professionally reblued
clayman
Red Kite Lanolin barrel polish and water-proofer seals the pores in gun finish and stops re-occurrence of rust bloom. As suggested, take the existing rust off with 000 wool, then polish with the lanolin polish. Often saves an expensive re-bluing job.
