Markio
I've been using Blue Diamond (7.5 28g) for the last 6 months or so for clays. Started a new box of 250 today and ****** me did i feel knocked about. Just checked the pocket of my shoulder and it's got a blood blister on it! Anyone else bought these recently and noticed a change in felt recoil? Was thinking about checking out some slightly cheaper alternatives anyway so this might be a good time! njc110381
Just checked the pocket of my shoulder and it's got a blood blister on it! You sure you're holding the gun the right way round??? Sounds a bit harsh from a 28g load
Markio
You sure you're holding the gun the right way round??? Sounds a bit harsh from a 28g load Tell me about it, i was using these same carts last summer fine with just a t-shirt on. Been having a few broken nights sleep recently with the baby so figured i was being feeble today, but given the bruise i figured it wasn't that at all. dunganick
yes, you will recall when you first tried your gun you used blue diamonds, well me and my old man paid special attention to which box we got them from as we had both agreed that the new ones (with the boxs without the tabs that fold into each other (just two short tabs........ if that makes any sense) were noticeably mroe punchy, hense having changed what cartridges we are now using. Did you per chance buy alot of them in bulk a while ago and you have just got some more?
Markio
Nick, i bought these 2 weeks ago. The last lot before that i bought before Christmas but i only get them in a 250 at a time. Maybe where i get them from had a huge job lot of an older batch. The large label on the latest outer box is different than before so maybe this is an indication on production batches. Anyway, time for a change. Out of interest what are you using nick?
dunganick
using hull intercomp 8's (fibre wad) very light on the shoulder, even more so than blue diamonds. Comp x are also good, although found them not to be so good longer range. (prehaps trick of the mind)

Markio
Well it's certainly not us then. Prob is i've now got 175 to fight my way through., nevermind. I think i'll look at something by Express or Hull. I'll have to see what my supplier has next time and get 100 of each.
MC
Markio, If you are happy paying the price of blue diamonds then I suggest trying either Express pro or super comp, or Eley Superb. Both are similar in price and performance but a lot softer on recoil. I tried some Blue Diamond about 6 months ago and to be honest wouldn't take any more as a gift. If you are feeling flush then try Express World Cup, they are pricey at £140 a 1000 but they are good.
Markio
Cheers Martin, I was paying £30.xx/250 at Easthorpe. The choice issue is my local/regular haunt is fibre only. Plenty of alternatives guys, cheers. I'll get a selection to try next time i buy.
