Suffolkngood
It's likely to be caused by an unsuitable memory card
Billy.
Hi can some body please explain why my camera only does 11 minutes 29 seconds on record each time when it is set for continues record.thanks for looking What are your video quality settings and what size is the memory card? If you can also let me know the 'speed' of the card (A number in an arrowed circle), that will help too.
superspark
It could be thst you have a faulty battery or the micro sd card is to small, to slow or not seated properly. It needs to be at least a class 10 for fast file transfer.
snow white
Memory card is 10 and 64 gb.not sure on the vido quality how do I check it.thank you. Edited March 2, 2015 by snow white
Billy.
You need to reformat your SD card to exFAT rather than FAT32. 32bit cards will record in 4GB chunks (32,000,000,000 bits in 4GB) exFAT is 64bit, so depending on your current PC/OS, you may encounter difficulties viewing or editing the files. Failing that, use your remote to cut off videos, as you don't really want to watch the same clip for ten whole minutes.

Billy.
Let's start again I'll try and explain this in layman's terms. The way to fix this issue is to reformat your SD card. Before I explain how to do this, I'll explain why I'm telling you to do this, as you will lose whatever is on the card, unless you save what is on there. At the moment, your SD card is formatted to FAT32, which is a 32 bit architecture. This means that the maximum file size that can be created on your SD card is about 4GB, as there are 2^32 bits in 4GB which can be organised into ones and zeros to create your videos. There is absolutely no way you can create a file larger than 4GB in the current setting, as the video can only fit into 2^32 bits, so you need to tell the card that it can write files in 64bit, 2^64 (which is astronomically huge, by the way!) By formatting it to 64bit, the max file size jumps from 4GB to 16 Exabytes (16.8 million terabytes!) However your card is 64GB, so that's all you can squeeze on there. Formatting it to 64 bit is literally just telling it that it can write 2^64 digits instead of 2^32. So, to format your SD card, if you're running Windows, is to follow this advice. http://www.wikihow.com/Format-an-SD-Card You will lose the data that is on there, so save whatever you need to keep and I would check if your system can interpret 64bit SD cards. If your PC is less than three years old, it's likely that it will be fine. There's nothing wrong with your GoPro, battery or SD card. It just needs to address files correctly. Failing all this, just stick with the 12 minute clips and stitch them in the edit. If it's a seamless transition between recordings, then just slap them together in the edit. Billy.
Out of interest, what are you filming with this GoPro? I'm just intrigued about why you film for so long. (The battery can't last long!)

Billy.
Hi billy tried it in computer it would recognise it but would not format.I am getting a bit ped of the with it.thanks again for your help. It's likely you are running a 32bit processor. It won't read or format to 64bit. I really don't see what the problem is with the GoPro continually recording, but making them in 4GB chunks. It's my worst nightmare to have to deal with a 64gigs worth of a single video file, which is a couple of hours long. If you're planning to edit the footage, it's probably doing you a favour, as most editing suites won't stand for processing huge files.
