I appreciate your deliberations gents but if they don't kill then the figures are academic.

I am more than happy with the way my stock fly now. They just don't cut it when they connect.

Real time/world events on the ground is my gauge gents.

Thanks all the same.

I'm with you on that , in the field is where they prove them self's , NO disrespect intended to anyone what so ever , ballistics don't really mean much to me as I know I have no way of reproducing the test conditions in any way shape or form , therefore imo its worthless

As we're talking fox, I picked one designed for small game and better penetration as opposed to, as CCI say, those explosive on impact.

True enough. But I've always believed that although perhaps it won't put you on the centre spot, some forethought can get you on the touchline as opposed to wandering about wondering where the hell the ballpark actually is.

The staple diet of my current WMR is Hornady 30g V-Max.

Not only is it very accurate but is rather effective on arrival, main quarry is Fox and Canada Goose.

Strangely perhaps, my last WMR actually preferred CCI 40G Maxi Mag JHP, that did well at the point of arrival too!

Give it a go mate.

Just out of interest . How often do you clean it. As in fouling from barrel? I don't touch my for 300 rounds and then it's just a light soaking with forest foam for an hour. Apart from that all I do is push a clean patch through it just to remove powder residue

If you're still struggling, whereas it's no damned use if they don't group well in your rifle, the ones that came out ballistically superior were the CCI but I forgot to mention which ones. Being CCI, they are readily available in the UK but you won't see them in the usual varmint selection. Have a shufti at the CCI 'Small Game' selection and the 'Game Point'.

Same here matey. The other groups inside 1&1/2" so doubt its fouling.

Will test in a short while.

Being Sunday; Mathew, Chap. 7, Verse 7. :good::lol:

Very nice wymberly.

Thanks KFC.

Now then what a result!

I noticed the inletting in the stock had a high spot today!

I shimmed the bedding to lift the action off the wood and to float the barrel more.

Now the CCI go better the 1.5"!

All other ammo shoots tighter and zero shifted up 4" and right 2"!

Happy days :-).

I took some shots at 170paces off hand and a rabbit would be seriously threatened!

Thanks gents.
