JDog Posted April 14, 2015 Report Share Posted April 14, 2015 I took these shots this morning in the rape field outside my house. The majority of the rape in this field is very tall as in the first picture and there would be no way in for pigeons. The second picture shows where pigeons have been eating rape off round a tramline for some time. I watch this field all day and it is regularly being used by over 100 pigeons. pigeon controller Posted April 14, 2015 Report Share Posted April 14, 2015 (edited) Definitely a good time to shoot rape as it concentrates the birds into specific areas which are short. The only concern is dropping birds into the tall rape and finding them . It also coincides with the buds on the trees which tend to spead the birds over a large area also the warm weather brings on the clover which is a good food source.
