scolopax
I have been using the iPad for an hour, it is eating power and seems to be very hot. Any ideas apart from turning it off?
Deker
probably worth looking to see if there's an app that can show what is hogging the CPU/Memory, I've had to do similar for my android OS in the past EDIT: maybe something like this https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/sys-activity-manager-for-memory/id447374159?mt=8 Edited April 29, 2015 by Deker
stevo_m
Turn the brightness down, bet you have it above 3/4. This does use a lot of battery and gets hot.

Billy.
What apps were you using? You can check under Settings>General>Usage>Battery Usage to see which App has consumed the most power since the last full charge. In most cases the most power hungry App is the one which is most processor intensive, which is the bit you will be feeling getting hot. It's highly unlikely the battery is getting hot. The draw isn't significant enough to cause it to warm up that much. Draining a 22V 5000mah lipo in 12 minutes usually gets the temperature to about 45 degrees C. The processor will probably peak at about 95 degrees C. I don't know if it is an apple problem or not, but my macbook becomes unbelievably hot when i try to use Skype. This is perfectly normal. You're live streaming video, which is processor hungry. Turn the brightness down, bet you have it above 3/4. This does use a lot of battery and gets hot. This uses battery, but doesn't affect the processor or cause it get hot. Edited April 30, 2015 by Billy.
oliver90owner
Likely the battery is on the way out. Does it hold a charge? If not, as above posts.
