Cogwell & Harrison

I see that Cogswell & Harrison, London gunmakers, now based in Eire are knocking out new guns at £1K. One wonders where they're actually being made. Is the fact that they use Turkish walnut a clue?

Note: I've nothing against Turkish guns.

Looks like any one of a bunch of "budget" guns .Non of the photos give much away . Odd that Cogswells name came up in conversation today talking about all the resurrected names that have never really taken off building a few high priced guns that all seem to end up doing the rounds of auction houses . Cogswells produced a lot of guns in their day but they were never in my opinion a "top" maker so maybe they are going back to their roots . I don't think this the gun as the market is overloaded with similar priced imports .

I think it`s a non starter trying to resurrect lesser names, the end result, if handmade, has to be priced relatively closely to the top makers whose products have a known resale worth. Why would anyone buy one, especially when they`re totally detached from any historical interest.
