walshie
A good friend of ours who's unfortunately no longer with us used to do the most beautiful baby back ribs for the barbecue. He used to boil them in Doctor Pepper for some time then when they were chucked on the barbie, they would melt in the mouth. Obviously I can't ask him where he got them, but every butcher I've asked looks at me like i'm mad. Any ideas where I can get some? Ta. kimgary
Any decent butcher should be able to supply baby back ribs, I dont know your location but if the butchers can not supply, search for meat suppliers to the trade or ask local restaurants/pubs who their suppliers are, they will be able to supply you and if they are decent you will be amazed at the price they do them for, if you are uk and have a decent bookers store near you they should be able to supply but their service/help varies store to store. I only ever eat baby back ribs imho they are the best i never bother with "spare ribs", hope you get sorted ATB Regards Gary.
aris
I get them at a Booker cash and carry. They are not easy to find as that part of the rib typically goes for loin chops - so are also not as meaty as what you would find in the US. The ones from meatpacks are popular with the competition bbq crowd - quite meaty. I believe it is Spanish meat. http://www.meatpacks.co.uk/Pork/FribinPorkLoinRibs
colin lad
not a lot of butchers will supply you with proper baby back ribs as aris has said they are off the loin/rack and not the belly as the butcher will get more for them selling them as loin chops, a lot of what you see as baby back ribs are just belly ribs cut down to look like baby back ribs colin
Dougy
Get yourself a belly of pork, sheet the ribs off leaving a fair bit of meat on. You can stuff and roll the belly then roast, beautiful. The ribs can be trimmed down and follow your recipe. You may possibly find it cheaper doing it this way, and get more for your money.
