A .22lr is definatley worth having. They are quieter than a lot of moderated pcp's ( fitted with the right moderator) and are brilliant for lamping.Using subsonic ammo the only noise you hear is the crack of the bullet hitting buggsy's skull. Seriously accurate to 70yds+. :/

Ive also got a .17 which is a great longer ranged bunny tool but had the down side of being a bit noisy due to the rounds being supersonic the ammo is also much more expensive than 22lr at around £9 a box...

A .22lr has to be the most popular calibre going for small pest control. Loads of people start off with them as a first gun! You say getting your FAC back? Does that mean you have bigger stuff already? It seems there's always a backlog for the firearms department, so be patient! :/

Got my ticket in January, I went the 22 route, my mate got a 17 shortly after, as others have said the 22 is unbeatable on bunnies within sensible ranges and I still can't get over how quiet it is, however, we went out lamping sunday night and I have to say we saw very few bunnies that stopped still long enough within 22 range, plenty between 150-200 yards though, will certainly keep 22 but hopefully get a 17 soon too
