roadkill
Well I had my first clay pigeon lesson today after 8 years of shooting, I am one of them shooters who can hit low 40s one week and then low 20s the next. So enough was enough and decided to have a lesson to see where i'm going wrong. I booked in at garlands with a recommended coach trainer from here who goes by the name of Daf. First thing he picked up on was the left and right eyes kept swapping and taking over being the dominant eye, so after years of shooting with both eyes open i'm now down to the one eye which was difficult at first but soon got the hang of it. Next bad habit was a slight head lift from the stock between shots to see if I have hit the clay. So with these problems made aware to me I now have something to think about before I take the shot. Was a great day and I even improved on what were difficult shots to me to hitting them quite confidently. Now on my own for the next three weeks and then will be back for another lesson.. Great chap and would recommend to any shooter Jamie

SheepAreHilarious
This is really interesting as I am the same. Very new however, began with 35/70, then did a 22/70, back up to a 32/70 followed by a truly dismal and depressing 24/100! I was debating lessons also as i have no idea where i am going wrong - would people recommend this?! Seems logical to me but since they are very expensive near me i wasnt too sure.
