Strutting his stuff

I had a call from a mate asking if i could do a favour for his friend,so on saturday evening i went to a lovely house with woods all around and a pheasant shoot based just up the road.

Sure enough there were quite a few rabbits on his lawn digging away so i thinned a few out ,and had a chat to the owner,a nice bloke who is a vegetarian but in his words had tried other options of rabbit control and realises that sometimes a cull has to be done,he didn't want to see it being done but was a nice bloke all the same and accepted what i do and was glad that the rabbits shot would not be wasted. As we were talking a peacock appeared from the wooded valley, he told me there were quite a few wild ones there and he also had pheasants come on his lawn.

And when chatting we got onto photography because i asked would he mind me taking pics and showed him some of mine and he liked them, and we have an arrangement so he can use some of my pics on his web site for his holiday lets.

So yesterday i went back and set myself up on the lawn with the rifle and this time my camera,i got a few more rabbits and then this fella strutted up on the lawn,he put on quite a display calling and flapping his wings challenging anyone to fight him,he was so engrossed in his display he didn't notice me until i moved to get a better picture then he legged it into the woods,a very pleasant way to spend an evening shooting bunnies and watching pheasants.
