andy74
Guys, Im looking for some decent new shooting boots, preferable the knee high ones. Im sick of buying the cheap ones ,and suffering wet feet all day, and of course it plays wonderful on my knackered ankle, so looking for some with good support as well. I have a budget of around £80-90, which could you reccommend? Many Thanks
decroyffe
Lowa GTX every time. there about the best boot you can buy in my opinion, and i've had them all. have a brouse on ebay, i bought mine there from a company called trojan, £140 slightly over budget but they come up as new for the £100 mark other wise the next best thing are yorkshire made Alt-berg, have a look at there web site. both offer great surport around the ankle and also the sole. if your going for knee high boots becareful, lace's all the way up the shin will cause shin splints if its a really active day. both companys also offer 100% waterproof boots. regards kieran
andy74
Has anyone got, or come across a makers of Toggi Columbus Calf Lenght boots at all, they seem to look the part, which will suit my wrecked ankle, and a lot cheaper then some of the other makes of similar boots. Bazooka Joe
andy74, if you want a good pair of boots I'm afraid it costs money, & it will be well spent. I bought a pair of Danner boots from the USA, not the ones advertised over here, I've had them for about 10yr now, fit like a glove, 100% waterproof/gortex/thinsulate, plenty dubbing & they'll last you years. al4x
I got a pair of Le Chameau Morevan boots, basically suede/synthetic rather than the full leather Manganu boots and they are great, I paid £60 delivered from the states excellent boots give really good ankle stability and waterproof as well as being good on the wallet
Browning
Take a look at Lundhags, the best boots I have ever owned. I replaced my first pair after 12 years, and my boots do take some hammer. Not cheap, but then again you get what you pay for. Penrith Survival Equipment are the importers.
Russell
Quite a bit over your budget - @ £170, had a pair of these for three seasons now & can't fault them - will never wear wellies again. Most of the local keepers wear them aswell. Meindl Dovre Extreme Hunting Boot. The meindl comfort you come to expect with excellent support for hunting and beating.
