casts_by_fly
Hi gents, I'm curious if anyone has tried these on Geese in scotland. They are 40g up to a size 2. That isn't a very big load for the 12, but in a lighter 20 gauge they would have some punch. I'm just curious if anyone has tried them and to what result. thanks, rick
sitsinhedges
Bet they're slow as heck to keep the pressures within limits.
casts_by_fly
Yeah, I would think so. Hopefully for your shoulder too. 40 g at full speed would be a handful in an OU. that said, #2 lead will hold its speed pretty well downrange too. They do a 50g in 12 gauge that looks the same, only scaled up. Similar loads in the 12 will be around 1200 fps, so I wouldn't be surprised if the 20 are around that range too. casts_by_fly
Yep. Biggest loads I have ever seen for a 20. Never shot one and not sure I want to, but I am curious about them. Rick
johnnytheboy
The are available online from Ace Shooting! I haven't shot them but I have seen geese been taken with 36g fiocchi 20g cartridges, shot size two I think! Big old grey lags on Orkney as well!
