sitsinhedges
Having got my quad I'm looking for ideas for a rifle rest on the front rack so I can lamp and shoot bunnies from it. At the moment I'm thinking of some kind of copper tubing set up (easy to solder together) with foam insulation attached to save damaging the rifle but not sure of the best way to attach it to the rack so would appreciate some ideas or other ways of going about making a rifle rest, ideally detachable or hinged. la bala
I have seen a video lately of George Digweed rabbit shooting from a quad, with a purpose built rifle rest. I think it may have been on The Shooting Show, will see if i can find it.

scotslad
The solway feeders ones are quite good. Or possibly coping it. Not sure if copper pipe would be strong enough? I have bodged a rest using pipe probably 3/4" by 3mm

Sorry, i cant find it. Have just done a quick google for ATV rifle rests, not much there either. If you can come up with a good one, there is a market there. Good luck with you project. barney 66
I made my own with a removable front rifle rest and a remote lightforce lamp, I put pics on here a couple of years ago can't seem to find them now or upload from iPad, if I can find them Tomorrow I will put them up for you, it works well for me, Thanks barney
sitsinhedges
Just called into Toolstation for some work stuff but also found some blue 19mm MDPE pipe clips that will fit nicely onto the front rack bars. These should give me a nice platform for a removable gun rest.
sitsinhedges
This is what I've come up with so far. it's made out of some 15x40mm hardwood and a 15mm aluminium bar that I had laying around with the pipe clips fixed to the bottom with dowel nuts. Looking good so far and easy to put on and remove. Just need a bit of pipe insulation now to protect the gun.
sitsinhedges
Here's the rifle rest in position, it's very stable to shoot from with my fore-arms rested on the handlebars. By chance had my first bunny using it from about 80 yards straight thru the noggin. Edited September 7, 2015 by sitsinhedges
