rodp
Right gents, I need a new sat nav as mine is at deaths door, it keeps coming up with black and white vertical lines on the screen I need a reasonably large screen (mines too small) Simple to use, Accurate. Relatively loud as I'm as deaf as a post I would like, One that has a return trip button (mine always brings me back a different way) Trailer / caravan setting so it doesn't take me where the trailer doesn't fit Free upgrades, Speed camera warnings Reasonably priced as I'm not a gadget freak, it's just a necessity. That's about it I think, any idea's ? Used would do if anyone's selling one to upgrade.
LondonLuke
GQ did an article this month and the one that came out best was a TomTom at £300 If that's not too much then I will find the article but it does seem a lot if not using it every day
rodp
Only use one now and then, seems a lot. Probably got lot's of bits I'll never use. Just been looking down ebay as my last one was second hand years ago and it lasted well. Trouble is, I don't know what I'm looking at
loriusgarrulus
I have a Garmin with a wide screen and very clear display. I can hear it clearly and I have bad hearing. It gives you a choice of up to three routes when it sorts out the destination.I tthink its this one. Not sure about caravan trailer settings as not used that. http://www.halfords.com/technology/sat-nav/car-sat-nav/garmin-nuvi-2529lmt-d-5-sat-nav-with-uk-ireland-lifetime-maps-and-traffichttp://www.halfords.com/technology/sat-nav/car-sat-nav/garmin-nuvi-2529lmt-d-5-sat-nav-with-uk-ireland-lifetime-maps-and-traffic

Paul223
Tomtom every time! When I bought my most recent 2&1/2 years ago I got ... Free map updates for life, because roads always change, as do speed cameras! 3years 'live', plans routes or diverts your route to avoid jams, works a treat in real time European maps, I've used the euro maps loads, France Germany Poland Italy and each time it placed me exactly right, I have confidence in this device! Cost £200 I used a garmin once, it took me to the wrong place, only a 1/4 mile out but still wrong, never again!
Paul223
Looking on Amazon similar devices are now £99 Bargain!

Totally agree, I drive by satnav all day every day, I've tried garmin, and although easy to use they often tell you you've arrived at your destination when you're a mile away, I have built in sat nav in my car but still use my Tom Tom. Make sure you get lifetime updates and if traffic jams are an issue go for live traffic as well, it's brilliant but will cost £47/yr to update. rodp
Borrowed a newer tomtom than my old one the other day, quite impressed to be honest. I really wanted a screen a tad bigger though, but could live with anything really.
