VULTURE
Hi. Anyone one on here shoot a Ruger model 77 in 357 cal, thinking of getting one and was wondering what they are like, reliable, durability, etc.and lastly how accurate. Already have other 357 cal guns and reloading gear. What scope would you recommend? Cheers. Vulture
bang bang birdy
A friend at my local range has one. The trigger is awful on his, he has upgrade the factory trigger to a timney kit and is still struggling with it, I've shot it a couple of times and thought the magazine feels it a bit flimsy, mag release is also not the smoothest of operations. Only my 2 pence worth, Stick to the under levers some much more fun.😃😃😃😃 Not very accurate either Edited September 16, 2015 by bang bang birdy
tweedledee
Have two mates one with a 22 the other with a hmr. Both accurate. Trigger can be upgraded
Puggers
Yes, I have one and been shooting it tonight in fact. I have an underlever in the same calibre and whilst they are both great to shoot, I find the Ruger more controllable and accurate and there's always the benefit of a nice Whitetail Classic mounted on it. Always easy to load for of course unless you just want to buy Magtech or similar but as is said above, I'd also recommend getting the trigger changed as the original is a bit of a beast albeit manageable. I got a Rifle Basics from Hannams at around £70 and was a doddle to fit. Nice and crisp now after a bit of tinkering to get the pull not too light. Feel free to PM me if you've any more questions but I'm not sure how available they are at the moment - I waited best part of a year from ordering mine but well worth the wait. If you do order one, make sure you get a spare magazine as well at around £40. Cheers
spanj
My .22 is fine even with the standard trigger and even for my meagre ability
VULTURE
Hi thanks for the replies, something to think about, all my other 357 don't have scopes on them which is why I wanted a 77. Are there any other makes I could get?cheers. Vulture
