Ira
I picked up my new Beretta A400 Extreme in Optifade 30" barrel a couple of weeks ago, from Forsey guns, they were very efficient and friendly and took my old LH Hatsan semi auto in part ex no problem. Swapped the cast over no problem, added a little extra drop with the shims, yet to have a proper session on the pigeons with it, although over the last couple of weeks Ive shot about 30 odd, no great sessions yet though. I am using 32g sixes and will probably keep with em. I had a few cracking shots that i have been really happy with, pigeons with the wind up em going like missiles, and it comes up really nice Im starting to not have to think about it already which is where I was at with the old gun. I am very, very pleased that I chose this, i'm sure I would have been equally as pleased with many other guns but this is the one I chose. Great action very little recoil as the kickoff works an absolute treat, oh and I managed to change the safety over to a left handed (cack handed) with not too much hassle. Its a thumbs up for Forsey and for the A400.
Cawdor118
How does it fair with 3 1/2" cartridges mate? I'm seriously considering one but only if it's 26" - which seems to be a hens teeth length. 30" would feel like a snooker cue in my hands. Can you pm me a rough price forsey will do them? Cheers

Ira
They recommend putting a slab of 32 g 6's through it before using anything else, its a bit slow on the pigeons on the farm at the moment so I haven't put that much through it yet. I am told you can have problems if you use to smaller cart without putting the 32's through first. quite surprised that 3.5 would jam, normally its the smaller ones that don't cycle!!! I also believe that whichever gun you choose there will be someone who has a problem with it. All Im saying is I like my A400 so far but I need to use it a whole load and I certainly intend to!!! Yes I am sure you can get a bad one in any gun , the problem with 3.5" seems to affect a few of them though , I posted a few quotes from people having issues on here a while back . If you only need to use the odd one now and again I cannot see it being much of an issue , but if you are out on the foreshore after geese a lot you could soon become cheesed off with it as muncher did ! SEshooter
I have put a fair few 3 1/2" 1's through mine and can honestly say no jams. I went orkney last year though and another shot had a bran new a400 xtreme. He had a nightmare with his jamming with 3 1/2" shells. He ended up just using his browning 10bore for the rest of the trip when shooting geese. He did love the gun when shooting ducks in the evening using 3" 3's
pigeonblasterian
I have had my A400 extrema two years and i shoot Gamebore Mammoth 3-1/2" steel and not once have i had a jam.I must have put a few hundred through the shotgun with not the slightest problem using 3-1/2" cartridges. The only cartridge that i have had trouble with is Kent velocity 28g 7-1/2 shot as it will not cycle them.
a303
According to a few US shooting forums there was a running production change to the carrier and trigger group parts to sort it.
