Bobba
I've got a thermal spotter Believe me, you can justify one, it's almost like cheating. My mate, who insists on walking in front, very often (all the time) fails to spot rabbits and I have to call him back. This isn't just now and then, it's all the time. With a thermal there's no escape, dead or alive. Scan with nv, then with thermal, you'll be surprised just how many you didn't see. Would be grateful for details of your thermal spotter please. Thank you.
Davyo
personally I have found the top mounted screens good to use well that is until the time comes when the old eyes start ta require the aid of reading glasses. I have a ns200 and have found it great, especially with the extra boost of an NM800 though it has its own IR. Now my eyes are not so good at close range it means I have to wear my reading glasses on my head to flip down when taking a shot, this is a pain, and worse when you forget the darn things all together. For this reason I think I will have to move to the Ward700, so my NS 200 is up for grabs at the right money. I have added an on/off switch so you don't have to click right through the IR powers to get to max, I just keep it on max and switch it on when needed. Tell me about it, I suffere the same problem (can't see the cross hairs on the monitor)but one night I picked my classes off the dash and stuck them on my nut. When I saw the rabbits in the spotter I put the rimmy on the sticks, turned on the Add on & popped my glasses done ready for the shot.Everything was still fuzzy tapped the monitors & turned to my mate to say there's something wrong.Only for him to fall apart laughing because I had my sun glasses on at 2am.I fixed this issue but adding a diopiter to the rear of the monitor which turned it into a near eye& ment I didn't need my glasses..But now my days of DIY are over since I moved over to the Pulsar N750a. Zetter
I had the same issue with a gen 1 spotter I had. I needed to take my glasses off to get good focus and eye contact with it then put them back on to use the rifle as my scopes are set for my eyesight when I have my glasses on. In the end it was way to much faff and the bunnies had time to slope off.

rodp
So no one on here has a NiteSite Wolf then? I wonder if that means anything ? Never looked through one, I don't think, but not looking very popular on here.

Davyo
I think the reason people don't bother with these add on, along with the NS50 & NS200 is do you really want all this clutter.

You are correct of course but what are the options? I cannot afford to buy two NV scopes for my rifles and then I would need two more rifles for daytime shooting. Strange of you to say that though as you have made add ons yourself.
Davyo
When you can make something like this for £100 plus £30 for a T38ir.No I don't sell them but I've made them for local lads who have sent their NS200's back.

My add ins have no cables & are all in one slip on & go.Your essentially paying for a brand name and fancy machines packaging.Just look at DaveG's stuff, his will knock the socks of any NS's & you'd be able to buy two. I know you do mate and we have spoken before about it but I do not fancy trying to make one (I did explain why in a pm to you) if someone can make me a add on NV that I can use on my .22 and .243 then that would be great (you would of done if I lived closer to you which I understood) if not then its a nitesite or similar for me.
