hellier0437
i have just ordered my cz varmint 16" .22lr, and now have got to get a scope for it. only problem is that i don;t have much money left . ideally i would like to spend around £50 (i know that this is too little really but i just want something for now while i save up) i have seen a hawke endurance 3.5 - 10 x 50 for £49 plus mounts. is this a good scope? are there any better for the money? sould i save a bit more for a nite eye (£79) or a varmint II (£109). thanks

steve_k
i would like to recomend the BSA sweet17 (£90) 6-18x40 with paralux adj. cracking scope for the money, althought it is designed for the 17hmr it is deadly on the 22lr and the optics are 20x clearer than the endurance. and no i didnt buy it from the worlds cheapest web sight........... hellier0437
just wondering, when i get the scope and rifle, what is the best way of ensuring that the vertical part of the crosshair is exactly in line with the centreline of the rifle, ie the horizontal line is not parrallel to the ground? JohnGalway
I'd imagine a spirit level or bulb ontop of the rifle to make sure it's level, then align the vertical line in the scope with the string on a plumb line? Never done it myself but read about it a couple of times, close enough is enough for me.

DaveK
Pretty much anything that will work on an air rifle will work just as well on a rimmy. I've got a Tasco on mine and it deals with bunnies and hares no problem. At the range you are likely to shoot it you don't need anything special. luckytrigger
You should be able to pick up a s/h WTC for around £70. Got one on my 22lr before that it was on many of my of my airrifles top scope imo.

hellier0437
does anyone know why the edurance 30 is so much more than the standars endurance?
