Budgeons are stocking for a short while only bags of pickling onions at a £1.00/bag.............im halfway thro doing mine so get stuck in..

 

 

my recipe..is...

 

 

  1. peel onions
  2. wash and drain..(do not dry)
  3. sprinkle loads of salt on them
  4. leave for 6 hours
  5. drain off liquid
  6. rub dry..on a towel
  7. put in jar
  8. several twists of fresh ground pepper
  9. cover with sarsons malt vinegar

 

 

leave for 2 weeks............

Done mine a couple of weeks back :good: like you I always use malt vinegar,I never use pickling vinegar :no:

 

One thing I do different to your method is to stick 2 fresh chillies in each jar,just to add a little warmth as they go down :yes::lol: BB

 

Morrisons always have pickling onions in this time of year also a £1 a bag.
