ditchman Posted November 4, 2015 Report Share Posted November 4, 2015 Budgeons are stocking for a short while only bags of pickling onions at a £1.00/bag.............im halfway thro doing mine so get stuck in.. my recipe..is... peel onions wash and drain..(do not dry) sprinkle loads of salt on them leave for 6 hours drain off liquid rub dry..on a towel put in jar several twists of fresh ground pepper cover with sarsons malt vinegar leave for 2 weeks............ Bluebarrels Posted November 4, 2015 Report Share Posted November 4, 2015 (edited) Done mine a couple of weeks back like you I always use malt vinegar,I never use pickling vinegar One thing I do different to your method is to stick 2 fresh chillies in each jar,just to add a little warmth as they go down BB Morrisons always have pickling onions in this time of year also a £1 a bag.
