The ranges shown are a slight exaggeration but otherwise it does give a useful insight. If you want lead ranges on geese you need bigger steel..... If you use bigger steel..... You need more shot to fill pattern.....

The 23/4" loads used are fine imo for upto 40 yards but for big pellets 3-3.5" to pack them in

how did you work that out?

Thanks Hatsanmad, watched with great interest, Ive been using steel for pigeon and clays for the last 2 years but this is my first wild fowling season and Im up on 3.5" 1's with 42 gram loads, its taken me a full box of 25 to adapt but ive just had my first limit bag on pinks and am getting the feel for these big boys now, I still cant hit the high birds but out to 50 yards or so no problem, most of my problems are too short a lead or not getting the string out in front by moving with the bird instead of moving through it, still lifes one big learning curve as long as you get there in the end. Just need a bigger freezer now !! :lol::lol:
