gameshooter93
Hi all, at the moment ive got an old ford ranger that needs replacing. Ive been looking at getting the ranger made between 2007 and 2009. Does anybody have one, and if so would you recommend it. Any advice or reviews would be great. Thanks
bostonmick
We had a 02 ranger for a few years got to just under 200k without to much trouble or expense the rear axle gave up in the end and it was just not economic to replace then bought a 09 model and it's done a fair bit of work but not without its issues.recon engine at 120k then at 150 a new head gasket and head skim. It's had a few little niggles along the way but basically a reasonable truck. However comparing it to my other trucks hilux's I won't be replacing it with another ford. But as I said my trucks work and work hard if you are just looking for light use then you should have no problems. nathan@celica
Hi, I just bought an 07 Ranger six months ago and so far all is good. I've been on a couple of decent runs and quite impresed with the fuel economy. Enjoying driving it daily and actually looking forward to some white stuff to play in. MattSoanes
I've owned an 07 thunder for the last 3.5 years, I've covered just under 50k miles in it and it's never let me down, just had brake pipes replaced for mot apart from that just usual wear and tear items, and I havnt particularly cared for it, it's a work horse and that's exactly what it gets used for. Total mileage to date is 143,000. This is the second ranger I have owned, first one was an 04,I'd defiantly buy another.
kyska
I've a 58 plate double cab. Touch wood three years in,no probs. Same here, very capable off road too, I dragged a stock trailer with over a ton of sheep in it, through our stack yard that is ankle deep in mud and rutted, didn't miss a beat. Driven long routes deer stalking, comfortable too
labstaff
I've got an 08 ranger. Fuel efficiency is pretty good but not the most comfortable ride. Just had a new prop shaft on it at 85k miles. All in all I'm happy with it.
Tony85
I've got an 09 Thunder 127000 on it. Serviced every year on the button and belts changed at 120000 miles. No major problems as of yet, very happy with it. It's a work horse primarily but do some long distance miles in it quite regular and it hasn't missed a beat. I get around 36mpg average. superspark
I have had my 07 double cab 2.5 Ranger now for over 3 years with no problems at all. great truck. Make sure you grease the propshaft at least yearly. I bought a cheap grease gun just for the job.
