Glenlivet
I see that new tins of the above state that it's for use on wood and plastic as well as metal. I found mention in earlier threads of Legia green for stocks. Does anyone know if the new oil is good for stocks and what effect it might have on wood colouration? I don't mind the wood darkening slightly but don't want to damage or discolour my stock.
Bungle The Bear
I have used it for around a year now on all my guns - no detremental effects. Wish I could get some of the old green stuff though, it was brilliant. Edited November 25, 2015 by Bungle The Bear
BerettaSV10
Used both with good results, though as I have a couple of tins of the green oil left used them first on the stocks. What I did find when I missed wiping a stock off with the green oil and it was a bit sticky in one place using the new oil I managed to remove the sticky patch with a bit of care and rubbing. B25Modelman
While I have a tin, it goes against my 40+ gun ownership grain. When spraying I still keep it well away from the wood...as stated in the manual. I am using the Napier gun cleaner and oil more though now. That was what put me off from using it on the wood work, after messing up on the one stock I tried it, will still use the green tin stock oil until I run out, just be a bit more careful and not so much of a hurry to put the gun away. I'm always wary of "multi purpose" products. I do like the Legia oil though, gives a nice fine mist. Will use very sparingly.

DaveyTed
Forget the Legia oil - whatever colour can. Use Ballistol, safe for anything and good for everything. and, no, I'm not on commission.
B25Modelman
Maybe why they stopped the green oil....oil and wood is not good. Ballistol is cats pee.
