Lead - the invisible killer

WWT seem to be been rattled by what BASC has said recently:

http://www.wwt.org.uk/news/all-news/2015/12/wwt-news/wwt-and-lead-ammunition-poisoning

The response from BASC is well worth reading:

http://basc.org.uk/blog/press-releases/latest-news/basc-welcomes-wwt-clarification-on-risk-management/

The statement from WWT includes the sentences:

"We are experts in the issue of lead poisoning."

"Human health is a key part of wetland disease management, and is one of the balancing factors in considering whether further regulation of lead ammunition is needed."

Does WWT actually have any expertise in lead poisoning in relation to human health?

Biographies of WWT staff who presented papers at the recent Oxford Lead Symposium don't mention any qualifications in human medicine, human nutrition or human toxicology.

It would be worrying if a totally unqualified group of people were publishing false claims to be experts in human health.

I wonder what the Charities Commission would say about that.
