A bit more training with the pup

Took the headcam out to do a bit of training with my new pup drake this morning , still a long way to go but I am pleased with his progress so far , he is just starting to grasp directions a little better but as you will see on the video he still needs correcting on occasion.

He is 100% steady on the dummys now .

Walking to heel off lead is going ok but again he sometimes needs a reminder of what he should be doing .

He is a bit of a speed machine when returning with a retrieve which is pleasing .

So if in 7 months time my lab is doing similar things Ill know I'm on the right track :)

We just play, eat and sleep and she knows sit, lie, will wait until being told before she goes for the food bowl. Comes to whistle. Has even sat there wile I threw a toy across the living room until I told her to go get it. That's without training cos she's too young to do serious stuff yet.

Hopefully yes , but much depends on the individual dog , just like people it takes some longer to learn certain things .

You may think yours is doing great but at a very young age it does seem easy , it becomes harder as they age and start to get a mind of their own and realise they can have more fun doing what they want rather than what they are told.

Don't ever be tempted to rush a dog and don't base what yours should be doing on what someone elses will do at a certain age .

Good luck with its future training .
