mk 38
Do 30g and 32g have the same hitting power or is it just weight of shot
Guest cookoff013
Weight of shot. If you want more punch at distance buy big shot 2s-4s. If you want better punch at distance buy big loads 42g 2-4s. I have used on ground game at distance.
oowee
It is weight of shot but for the same pellet speed there will be approx 7% more energy produced by the heavier shell. Assuming the same number of pellets hit target the hitting power will be the same for both shells. The chance of more pellets on target will be higher for the heavier shell as there are more pellets being fired.
Continental Shooter
it's a mix of speed and pellet weight/size. since the loss of speed is directly proportional to the weight/speed of the pellets, the below tables should clarify the above statements mm Distance in metri 10 12,5 15 20 25 30 35 40 45 50 550 60 75 100 4,5 338 327 317 299 281 265 250 237 225 214 205 196 176 156 4,25 336 325 314 295 276 260 245 231 219 208 198 189 170 145 4 334 322 311 290 271 254 239 225 213 202 192 183 163

impala59
I think its as follows {wild guess} distance in metres 10 12,5 15 20 25 30 35 40 45 50 55 60 75 100 shot size 4,5 338 327 317 299 281 265 250 237 225 214 205 196 176 156 pellets in 1 m circle 4,25 336 325 314 295 276 260 245 231 219 208 198 189 170 145 4 334 322 311 290 271 254 239 225 213 202 192 183 163 138 possibly? Continental Shooter
Sorry folks, when i wrote it, the preview on my mobile showed the table. Thanks to Impala for redoing it as i've been away the past week. Essentially, the table shows that the smaller the pellet the quicker it'll lose speed at distance, hence effectiveness. a 30 mt the 4.5 mm pellet will retain a speed of 265 m/s whereas the 2 mm pellet will travel at a speed of 167 m/s Hope this explains better. Thanks,
