Dr D
The pigeons have been proving very difficult so today with the temperature drop I decided to go out after the annual woodcock. I used to shoot alot, but not so much these days. It was a still day and drizzled none stop, but nice to be out doing something different. The birds proved to be very spooked. No typical tight sitting and up at your feet shots. Most of them jumped up well ahead and invariably put a tree between them and me. I managed a few pigeons along the way and a nice cock pheasant. It was getting on and I noticed a few feathers in a small flood. So I hung on till dark and bagged a little drake teal to finish off a enjoyable afternoon mooching around

Dr D
Great time absolutely. It's been a while since I spent the afternoon walking a bit of rough ground. Cannot beat a nice mixed bag. Indeed. Nearly enough there for a multi bird roast. Problem is, bar the pheasant they are all about the same size. The woodcock were in particularly good nick. They must have found it easy this year with the mild weather.
