deadeye ive
I am getting a build up of lead in the section just in front of where the shell opens upon firing and I'd like your advice as to what is the best solvent cleaner to remove it . PS I normally only clean with leiga gun spray

MC
Use some GMK bore cleaner if you can get it, apparently they have stopped making it. Spray it in and leave for a few minutes and then scrub with a bronze brush. then mop out with napier super clean wrapped tightly around a jag until the patches come out clean. caplock
Ive I found the quickest way to shift lead was to use very fine wire wool wrapped around the bristle brush with a good squirt of wd40 for lubrication and only use in a rotary motion in the spot affected. I'd tried all manner of solvents but the bronze brush just isn't up to it. I was worried about marking the bores and making the problem worse in the future but not a mark, still shining like mirrors from chamber to muzzle.
