lr V's wmr

had my wmr a couple of week's now and put 100 or so rounds through it so thought i would take it out for a little comparison with lr for grouping,

got to field and set up some target's 1st to check zero as it was the 1st calm day since i have had it at 3-4mph wind's,

then set some targets at 50 60 70 80 90 and 100 to see how the bullet behaves in flight as the wmr is all new to me,

after about 60-70 shots i noticed the groups starting to open up a little so gave it a pull through 3 times with the bore snake then a 5 shot group at target to foul it up then stuck the comparison target out 2 at 50 yards and 2 at 100,

at 50 they both seemed very close also not too much difference at 100 though in picture below on the 100 yard wmr target the shot furthest left i pulled it was one of them shots that as i squeezed i knew it was going off, though i left it in and didn't do group again as it's how it would be under hunting conditions,

all shots where taken off wing mirror with what little breeze there was over right shoulder heading from 4 oclock to 10 oclock on clock chart,

coin in middle is a 2p coin

A clear example of why I can't make up mind which way to go, unless I can afford both.....................Looks like I'll be selling two shotguns..............

both guns would group better if it i was bench rest shooting and by someone a bit steadier but i wanted to do comparisons how i sometimes shoot ie from truck

a good steady rest for front of gun but the butt was still tucked in shoulder so there was movement

the hmr groups better when no wind but i got the wmr for close fox work so for me it's plenty good enough

where i 1st set up wind all be it very slight was from right to left and at the 100 yard mark i was getting anything from 1-2.5 inch drift so i moved to get it as much as i could behind me though not completely behind as i was using a good gradient in field as back stop and it would of been too flat and no real backstop,

but the wmr is new and today was all about working out how much drop i was getting and how high i was at peak trajectory ,

with the zero i have i can pretty much point and shoot at fox to 100 yards

that is good to know, was just about giving up with my .22lr. good to see someone getting good groups at 100yds. Note to myself " must try harder".

It's usually an ammo thing. There are big differences at 100 that don't realy show at 50. To such an extent that I only test ammo at 100 now
