markfromholland
I had a flir to try out. a buddy has a guide, flir lookalike, when looking through the finder, it seems like the display is way far from your eyes. i am glad i bought the pulsar
Dougy
Tried both, the Flir TS24 scout and Pulsar XD50s and I own the Pulsar. Better Image size Faster refresh I could not see stuff with my mates Flir on the same night that I could see with the Pulsar.
LeadWasp
Beware of the sensor vs display resolution of the Pulsars. For example some use a sensor of only 384 x 288 but a display of 640 x 480, so all they are doing is spreading less image over more pixels which is pointless, the resultant image will just be more confused. The unit is only as good as it's sensor so buy the best you can afford. Edited March 11, 2016 by LeadWasp
jimmyb79
Also look at the refresh rate. Most FLIRs are running at 9hz and latest Pulsars at 50hz. A 50hz imager is far smoother in image than a 9hz. Another make to look at is Guide. I've just got a Guide IR510P and it's cracking. Not as good as a Pulsar XD50S, but didn't cost as much either. For the use it gets comparing the 2 side by side the pulsar shows a better image than the FLIR, for our purpose anyway I think the Pulsar a better tool. Bewsher500
there is a group buy on Pulsar should anyone be in the market in the classifieds here and on the Stalking Directory significantly cheaper (£300-700)
markfromholland
The display of flir and guide seems further away from the eye than with the pulsar. I bought the pulsar
