Does anyone have a supply of Winchester cartridges?

Recommended Posts

Would anyone know a stockist of any Winchester cartridges like AA trap? Even if only for nostalgic reasons I'd like a box or two

What part of the world are you in? I have a small quantity (total 73) of Winchester Silver Trap 28g 7.5 shot, here in the south of Scotland. Probably at least 20 years old, but they have been in a cupboard in the house at an even temperature and humidity all the time, so should be OK. They used to be popular among the top sporting shooters. I bought 100 in a fit of enthusiasm, and then realised that any old squib would suffice at my level of skill. Kept them all this time, in reserve for a "special" shoot, but find that cheap-ish things like Superfast are perfectly adequate for my purposes (social shooting, rather than formal competitions).

As per the title, I was a huge fan of Winchester cartridges when I first started out but it seems supplies have all but dried up?

The machinery that made them wore out and it was too expensive to replace they now use parralell tube cases not compression formed so no more proper Trap 100 /200 .i have been told that there available in Europe and the USA but not here

I have 1500 Winchester AA Trap/Skeet (mostly Trap). They are from a batch in 1973!! Been kept cool and dry, I tried a box a couple of months ago, shoot great! They were given to me by a gun shop owner pal, when he retired. I love the comp cases, along with Remington RXP, and Remington Blue Magic, the best cases ever for reloading.........I have squirrelled away about 1,000 RXP cases (for a rainy day!) :good: None of them are for sale, unless I turn my toes up, and then the wife will probably give them away!
