Probably not much different anywhere in the country, but certainly in Essex, obtaining shooting permission is like gold dust.

 

So, really chuffed to have picked up a new permission this weekend, from a farm currently suffering with lots of pigeon damage, so hope to be doing something about that during the next couple of days.

 

Feeling very lucky, but it doesn't come easily so I do feel rewarded for the effort put in. Farmer recommendations of being an enthusiastic shooter with a respectful attitude for the task and of the countryside in general, has been a definite help with this one. Currently now enjoying in total approx 4000 acres of exclusive permission, plus approx 1800 acres of shared permission, and possibly another 400 acres to be secured within the next few days.

 

Picking up my bus pass in a couple of months, so my impending semi-retirement is looking to be a fantastic time to come !

Well done , enjoy. Recommendation is a great asset if you do a good job and show willing you will get your rewards. We have some farms that will let anybody shoot it would appear, very rare to see the same face twice due to them being difficult to shoot due to the pressure .

Well done on getting more land to shoot. It is always nice to have somewhere different to go. I managed to get myself another 2 farms to shoot last week. If you don't ask, you don't get.
